Today, DSP (digital signal processing) technology has been widely used in the field of signal processing. The parallel processing technology has the potential that it can greatly raise the processing rate and solve the large-scale problem, so it has been an emphasis in the developing of modern digital signal processing. It is a pity that data transmission speed can't match the high speed of processing. So the key of fully using the advantages of DSP technology is to solve the transmission problems.This design can provide a high-speed path to a set of SHARC Parallel Array Processor. Between this parallel processor and an analog signal acquisition module, the designed system can realize real time transmission.In this paper, a data acquisition system based on VME bus is designed and completed, which has adopt one ADSP21060 (SHARC) chip which is one of the most advanced parallel DSP devices now. This system collects and transmits data for the SHARC By using large scale FPGA and VHDL hardware descriptive language to design the interface logic, it is very flexible to adapt to various parallel algorithms.In this paper, the main works are as follows: 1.A data acquisition system has been developed. 2. By using FPGA and the VHDL hardware descriptive language, the interface logic between the analog signal acquisition module and the interface of SHARC is designed and realized. 3. The data reading, writing and boot loader of SHARC chip have been debugged.
