Metadata And Management Of Internet Information Resource

With the development of computer and communication technology, digital library is the developing direction of library of 21 century. Internet information resource is the important organization content of digital library and its quantity increases greatly. Faced with the immense information resource, how to search, organize, describe and use it becomes an important research object. This paper mainly researches metadata theory that includes metadata format, features, encoding language and interoperation; analyzes the effect of metadata on information search; discusses the Dublin Core metadata scheme and RDF and emphasizes the syntax realization in XML/RDF. According to information resource in existing library, the paper puts forward standard metadata draft of science and technology documents, the metadata analysis of reader information, and the architecture of metadata application system and relative technologies in digital library.
