Piston ring is an important part of internal-combustion engines. There are many items need to be measured,and each item is detected mostly by special instrument. The taper piston ring conic degree measuring instrument is a kind of special instrument that measures the conic degree of each one amongst a group of superposing piston rings,and the research on data acquisition and control system of this instrument is the key point of this thesis.In this thesis,the development of the data acquisition,control system and hardware design are introduced first. The characteristics and limitations of them with different structure and principle are studied. Based on the study the author expounded the basic measuring principle and structures of the taper piston ring conic degree measuring instrument,this instrument is confirmed to be a PC based instrument. Then,with considering the technical problem that existed in the applying process of the frequency modulation inductance sensor,the integration of the data acquisition circuitry and interface circuitry of this kind of sensor have been studied and the circuitry system with better performance using PLD has been developed. At the end of this thesis,the measuring software and some experiments that tests the whole system are introduced. The experiment result indicates that the circuit system has achieved the expected design goals. Furthermore the circuit system is valuable for designing the data acquisition and control system for any frequency modulation sensor.
