According to the requirements of the Real-Time Monitor and Information Management System for Locomotive Maintenance of Zhengzhou, this paper deals with a distributed data acquisition transmission and processing system, in order to collect data of field equipments automatically, transport the data to server through Embedded Ethernet and store them in the SQL database. The purpose of this project is to find the underlying relationship between the data of locomotive maintenance by colleting, managing and investigating the data, hence to forecast the potential quality problems, and improve the maintenance quality and management level of the national locomotive System. From the second year of graduate study, the author have been involved in the project of Data Acquisition and Process of Locomotive Maintenance, which passed the accreditation by Zhengzhou Railway Bureau on Dec 30, 2000. The project of the Real-Time Monitor Information Management System for Locomotive Maintenance is the improvement and extension based on the previous one. In order to solve at the communication problem lies between Serial and Ethernet, this paper presents two simplified interconnection models. The 8 bit, 16 bit microcontroller and DSP are used to drive the 10M ISA-bus network card to implement the models. The practical application acts as what's expected. Additionally, the author develops the portable data acquisition device and sets up the database. Based on all the work presented above, this paper research into the architecture and technical details of the project.At first, the thesis outlines the history of the Distributed Data Acquisition System, then compares the communication methods under three different distributed systems, points out the characteristic of the Embedded Ethernet, that is, high performance, high flexibility and open structure. In chapter 2, the technology requirements and general information are introduced, and two interconnection model of Ethernet and Serial are described as well. The chapter 3 introduces the implementation of data acquisition. The chapter 4 describes the development and related technical details of the Embedded Ethernet. The author implement the two models with microcontroller 8031, 80cl96kc and the TMS320C31 separately, and the model developed using 8031 has been put into practice and met the project requirements.. Chapter 5 introduces the database and chapter 6 give some examples of Web browser in the database, and the last chapter gives some conclusion and foresight.
