College period is the key period in one's life span development. Now people are paying more attention to college students' mental health. Social anxiety is one of the important psychological problems that have a high rate of occurrence, be long-lasting and affect college students' achievement of accomplishment and harmonious interpersonal relationship. The study tries to overcome the limitations in domestic study on social anxiety and explores the better intervention ways that are more suitable to our college students.The study falls into two parts. The first part is an investigation study on 1815 college students' social anxiety state with Social Anxiety Scale. The second part is an intervention study on college students' social anxiety. The intervention study is divided into two parts: cognitive behavior group intervention and psychoanalytic individual intervention. The 25 participants of group intervention study are screened on the basis of investigation study. They are fitting to use cognitive behavior group intervention to better their social state. The participants are divided into two groups: experimental group and control group. Cognitive behavior group intervention is carried out on experimental group for eight weeks and takes no any measures on control group. Three self-report inventories (SAD, SCL-90 and ATQ) are used to examine and prove the effectiveness of intervention. The participant of individual intervention is a visitor suffering from social anxiety that comes from psychological counseling center of Shan Xi University. On the basis of Psychoanalysis, individual consultation is carried out on this participant for twenty-three weeks. The effectiveness is assessed by the visitor's self-report, classmates' report, counselor's report and the above-mentioned three self-report inventories.The result of this study shows as follows:1. College students' social anxiety is a problem that should not be ignored, the social anxiety College student is about 14.44%.2. In the dimensions of gender and family college students' social ??anxiety has no significant difference.3. In the dimensions of grade college students' social anxiety has significant difference. Students in Grade Two have a higher level of social anxiety.4. In the dimensions students' kind college students' social anxiety has significant difference. Students in medical students have a higher level of social anxiety.5. According to comparisons on experimental group and control group's pre-measure, experimental group's pre-measure and post-measure, control group's pre-measure and post-measure, experimental group and control group's post-measure, cognitive behavior group intervention is effective to treat social anxiety that is caused by cognitive dissonance and lacking of social skills.6. Case study shows that in individual consultation the way of Psychoanalysis can produce obvious result in treating social anxiety that is caused by lacking of trust.
