The Study On The System Of College Tuition In China

In recent years, accompanying with the expanding of China's higher education scale, college tuition is rising at large, causing extensive concern from the public. At the same time, there have been some problems appeared in the reform process of the system of college tuition, such as the college tuition is rising too quickly and too much, and there is still no any scientific standard about tuition, etc. These problems caused further concern and discussions about the system of college tuition from the public and researchers. It is the public expectation that the charge of higher education is to of rationalization and stabilities. Based on the theoretic analysis, which consists of the theory of cost sharing and the theory of need and supply, the study believe that it is an advancement from free higher education to charging certain fees, and this trend is consistent with social development. But, the charge of higher education must be decided objectively and rationally. It can not ignore the recent social and economic conditions in China. At the same time, based on the analysis of historical development and recent condition of the system of college tuition in China, together with the revelations and lessens from other country's experience, this study bring forward the main problems of the system of college tuition in China, and try to find out the causes and determining factors. At last, this study produced some counterplans and suggestions about China's college tuition system, hoping to resolve some problems, and then to establish a system of college tuition that will be conform to the condition of our country and benefit the further and health development of higher education.
