This thesis sets out from the theory and requirement of constructing a modern Chinese society. It finds and understands the new value of teaching classical Chinese, observes the bad present situation of the teaching , and finds the deep reasons that lead to the bad situation. It gives some thoughts and methods about the teaching reform to bring classical Chinese teaching into play in our country's modern construction.This thesis is made up of introduction and literature summary, text, conclusion. The introduction and literature summary has reviewed the curt history of classical Chinese teaching, and has introduced the present research dynamic status of this subject. The text is divided into three parts. First, it is about the value discovery of classical Chinese teaching in the modern view. This part based on the most new theory of modernization and the situation of our country. It has rediscovered four pieces of classical Chinese teaching's value: the value of succeeding and developing traditional culture;the value of agglomerating and uniting Chinese nation;the value of bringing up the humanism spirit and improving social status;and the value of improving the level of reading and appreciating, madding students to use elegant language. Second, it is about the present situation and disadvantage of classical Chinese teaching. This thesis has investigated and analyzed the teaching situation in two high schools and the experiences which are about classical Chinese teaching after new China is founded. Then it analyzes the problems about present classical Chinese teaching deeply. Third, it is about the conception of classical Chinese teaching reform in the modern view. It supplies the thoughts and methods to solve problems which appears in the reform of classical Chinese teaching. At last, the value of classical Chinese teaching is carried out. The conclusion summarizes the basic content of this thesis, pointing out the researchspace that this subject can expand and its research meaning.The classical Chinese is used by classical literature works and informations, we have teaching the classical Chinese whole in the past, and it is part of our Chinese teaching today. The own value of classical Chinese teaching must supports the construction of Chinese modernization. So we should pay attention to the classical Chinese teaching in the condition of making the colloquialism teaching to be the principal part. It is good for the development of our country and nation to teaching and learning classical Chinese well.
