Research On The Tuition-Charging System In American Universities

The charging tuition in our universities is growing quickly whose speed is far higher than the level of residents' economy growth. This point is bad for the development of higher education. So, we urgently need to reform and improve tuition-charging system in our universities.This paper is armed at the disadvantages existed in our country's higher education tuition-charging system, using historical research method, comparative research method and investigable method to analyze some relevant factors of American higher education tuition-charging system. Through summing up the theoretical foundation of American higher education tuition-charging system and practical experience of its successful operation, this paper attempts to put forward some suggestions adapted to our country's higher education tuition-charging system.The main clue of paper is the inside relationship between tuition-charging system in American universities and its politics, economy and culture background. Firstly, the paper concludes the theoretical basics which are economics, sociology and marketing and practice the benefit-in-share principle and fair principle. Secondly, it states government, universities, students (their family) relationship between their usage and their gains and losses. At last, it analyzes the running of the system entirely which includes the basic situation, such as the powerful support and control from government, raise education funds in order to reduce the standard of the tuition and improve the financial aid system;how to confirm the tuition-charging standard and which kind method to take.Above all, this paper provides some reasonable suggestions for the tuition-charging system in our universities. First, the economic inc one of residential family and their support ability should be the main standards for formulating the reasonable tuition of higher education;second, various tuition-charging systems should be carried out to fit for universities in different levers;third, the financial aid system should be setting up and improved as soon as possible;and at last, the management of tuition-charging in universities should be improved quickly.
