The reforming and innovation of fellowship system is of vital significance with the ever-deepening mechanism reform for graduate education.This research outlines the transformational history of fellowship system based on past-present-future pattern, particularly,I gain a fresh insight into the formation and transformation of the fellowship system from the perspective of Game Theory and Neo-institution Economy.The predecessor of fellowship is the student grant,which was suspended in 1980s. In 1990s,the Ministry of Education&Finance stipulated the details of scholarship for postgraduates in a series of documents.And at the beginning of new century,The package scheme of Charging all postgraduates,Substituting tuition-free for fellowship came into being under the situation of paid higher education trend and the salient disadvantages of former scholarship system.It's urgent to establish a new fellowship system coordinating with paid graduate education.The new system is not only a solution to the self-reliance for postgraduates, but more important,a commitment mechanism for improving the quality of graduate education and managerial capacity.The vastly differentiated and adjustable scholarship, which fosters the furious competitive academic atmosphere,is a stimulus to nurture outstanding students and optimize administration.Observed from the perspective of institutional formation,reforming is a game-playing framework for both decision-making and implementation.And the fellowship reformation is a dynamic equilibrium in this interests re-distributing process, so dispute on this matter is inevitable.After all,there is no such institution which is superior to all others and fits to all conditions,vice versa.However,carefully examined from the perspective of institutional transformation, the mandatory transformation characteristic is pervasive,and thus it's necessary to consider the induced institutional change when we design the new ones.For a system,there are always loopholes to be blocked,and he Substituting tuition-free for fellowship is exceptional,for example,how to guarantee the fair play in this game? How to alleviate the sensitive interpersonal relationship which is brought about by the competition? Y Faculty of X University had an extraordinary try as this regard.This dissertation is divided into four parts,the first one is an introduction,including the origins of my paper topic,literature review,research methods,foundations etc.In the second section,I look back the transformational route of graduate tuition and scholarship system,specify the inevitability of this institutional change theoretically and realistically.And then case study is also available to expound the sophistication of this new deal and the impacts on each stakeholder.Eventually,Game Theory and Neo-institutional Economics will be employed to deconstruct the fellowship reform and thus corresponding suggestions are provided in this analytical process.
