Objective: In order to research the development rules of the nursing education in multinational region and provide a reference for teaching reform, a cross-section investigation concerning the curriculum design in Xinjiang has been done and the data offered by students, teachers and some experts in nursing education have been analysed. Methods: The research adopts cross-section survey. It includes two stages. The first stage was about basic investigation, which collected the teaching plans of four–year program in baccalaureate nursing education of Xinjiang through conducting collection on the spot and analysed the curriculum design.The second stage was to acquire the data of the questionnaires of 124 different nations baccalaureat nursing trainees, 42 professional course teachers, 156 clinical teachers and 10 experts of nursing education and then to analyse the evaluations and suggestions of them on baccalaureat curriculum design. Results: 1) The baseline survey showed that the average total credit hours was 2794, and the mean rate of the public basic course was 27.39%, the medical basic course 25.61%, the curriculums of humanities science and social science 28.35%, the nursing specialties course 46.99%. The average ratio of theory and practice curriculum was 1:0.38, the compulsory course and optional course 1:0.22. 2) 66.26% Han people trainees and 48.57% Minority Groups trainees committed that they were willing to increase practice courses. 46.99% and 53.01% Han people trainees wanted to increase optional courses and curriculums of humanities science and social science respectively. 60.00% Minority Groups trainees believed that Clinical Clerkship period was much longer than they was even thought. 3) To trainees'occupational manner and practice ability, The clinical teachers gave positive evaluations, but their research and law awareness were somewhat low. Meanwhile, The clinical teachers deemed that the courses of the students good master were basic nursing and basic medicine et al., but the nursing research, nusing management and law were not well. 4) The trainees agreed that the most important courses were English, computer, P.E., pharmacology, anatomy, pathology, physiology, medical nursing,surgical nursing,nursing of gynecotokology and pediatric nursing et al.,which must been offered in compulsory courses. Trainees and professional course teachers'evaluations on traditional chinese medicine and sociological nursing were not well and their suggestion existed discrepancy about importance of nursing management and set up form of the rehabilitation nursing(P<0.05).5) 57.50% professional course teachers and 40.00% experts in nursing education considered that gradual model should be taken. 87.50% professional course teachers and 80.00% experts believed that interval clinical clerkship should been adopted. Conclusion: 1) The curriculum design in Xinjiang is reasonable. 2) The baccalaureate nursing trainees'clinical nursing care competency is important, but profession recognition, management,law awareness and research awareness should be cultivated. 3) To increase properly practice courses, optional courses and the curriculums of humanities science and social science. 4) The courses aquired good evaluation should be emphasized firstly as core-curriculum. 5) To cut down courses through integrating branch nursing scored lower. 6) To adopt nonage contacting clinical nursing and interval clinical clerkship.
