The purpose of this study is to investigate the current status of contract nurses' psychological contract and job satisfaction and analyze the correlation, and explore how to improve contract nurses' job satisfaction by making use of psychological contract,so it can ensure a positive work attitude and high level of job performance,and reduce the incidence of turnover.The study object is contract nurse and registered nurse for control.300 contract nurses and 300 registered nurses were investigated by a questionnaire.Convenience sampling and random sampling method was used.By analyzing the data,the following results were reached.(1)The extent of fulfilled organization obligations of contract nurses and registered nurses' psychological contract was below the average.The most dissatisfied dimensions of both were material incentives and environment support.Job satisfaction of both was below the average too.The most dissatisfied three dimensions of both were wages and benefits,the job itself and workload.(2)There was a significant positive correlation between contract nurses' psychological contract and job satisfaction(3)Contract nurses' psychological contract is related to shift schedules,service period,basic education and department.Contract nurses' job satisfaction is influenced by service period,department and other factors.The study indicates that all three dimensions of contract nurses' psychological contract affect job satisfaction significantly.The study suggests that in order to enhance contract nurses' job satisfaction administrators can commence to improve their psychological contract.The study presents corresponding policy including the following three: hospital systems,nursing management and individuals.
