Research On Community Health Service: Based On Perspective From NCD Patients' Demand

ObjectiveAs economy developing, aggravate aging and change of life style, disease spectrum and death notation has greatly changed. Non communicable diseases became top killer to human. The current NCD situation in China display as the follow three features:First, the mobility and mortality caused by NCD is keep growing; Second, the dangerous factors leading to NCD becoming popular; third, the financial burden caused by NCD is far more heavy. For the threaten from NCD, more and more resource has been input in NCD prevention and therapy. To take good advantage of community health service in NCD prevention and therapy could reasonably deploy the limited health resources and release the burden of large hospitals.This thesis aimed:to analysis the disease conditions and utilization of community health service; drawing on the theories of positioning, service marketing and customer oriented theory to analysis NCD patients demand for community health service; then explore a community health service model based on perspective demand from NCD patients.MethodsBased on social medical theory, principles of management, health economics and epidemiology, this thesis applies literature review, questionnaire investigation, individual interview and SWOT strategy analysis to study community health service for chronic disease. It reviews the features and development statues of chronic diseases and chronic disease community health service. Then it described analysis the utilization and demands for community health service. And adopts SWOT strategy to find the strength, weakness, opportunity and threaten for chronic disease community health service. Finally, in the light of relevant theories, it establishes a model of chronic disease community health service.ResultsFirst, most of the chronic patients are elderly people over 60. the participation in health insurance for chronic patients is higher than others, it might be relative with the features of chronic diseases. Second, the morbidity of diabetes and cardiac diseases is high than that of national level, concerning the typical geography and diet habit of Guangzhou. Third, the utilization of community health service,33.8% patients take community health service for the first choice, out of the geography and price advantage. While those do not choose community health service because they know little about this kind of service. Forth, people pay more attention on their health; patients need abundant content and varied forms of health education; patients believe the advantage of Chinese medicine on preventing and curing chronic diseases. patient have high recognition in home bed and family care contract.ConclusionFrom the aspect of NCD patients, we took a survey on patients'perspective demand, then based on the SWOT analysis of community health service, it draw a a community health service model which consists of support system, service provide system and cooperate system. service provide system conclude regular service and special service, cooperate system propose community health service alliance with general hospitals or health examination organizations. Support system include government, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and information technology platform.
