Objective:Comprehensively analyse the basic data of patients with vertigo, explore the law of the incidence of vertigo and the relationship between TCM and clinical related factors, to provide more adequate theoretical basis in the prevention and treatment of vertigo. Methods:Retrospective analyse the basic data of 640 cases of hospitalized patients in Neurology who with the chief complaint of vertigo. Use proportions, chi-square test to analyse the related data for patients with different syndromes in order to understand the law of the incidence of vertigo and risk factors, and to explore the relationship between TCM and types of gender, age, blood lipids, blood flow changes and Western cause. Results:The male to female ratio was 1:1.15 in patients with vertigo, the higher incidence age was 41-80, and the incidence increased with age, occur always in spring and winter. The ratio between the vestibular system lesions and non-vestibular system lesions were 7.2:1. Central vertigo was 89.5% in vestibular system lesions. The incidence of vertigo patients with hypertension, lipid disorders, coronary heart disease is high. The interior retention of Phlegm dampens group was the most widely distributed in TCM syndromes. In the relationship between TCM syndromes and types of gender and age (P<0.05), the proportion of women higher than men in blood deficiency type, the flaring liver-fire type is inclined occur in the patients with young age. In the relationship between TCM syndromes and lipid (P<0.05), phlegm dampens group in the high rate of high blood lipids; TCM syndromes has no significant correlation with blood flow changes (P>0.05); In the relationship between TCM syndromes and the cause of disease, the flaring liver-fire type based mainly on hyperactivity induced vertigo.Conlusions:The interior retention of Phlegm dampens group was the most widely distributed in TCM syndromes. Blood deficiency is more common in women and the flaring liver-fire type is inclined occur in the patients with young age. Phlegm dampens group in the high rate of high blood lipids, the flaring liver-fire type based mainly on hyperactivity induced vertigo. Wind, fire, phlegm, virtual play an important role in the onset of vertigo, adjusting diet (better nutrition, the goods of Feigan thick and greasy are limited), adjusting emotions, control blood pressure, lipids in the prevention and treatment of vertigo accounted for an important position.
