| Purpose: The purpose of this study is to collect basic information of patients with vestibular peripheral vertigo and analyze the characteristics of the evolutive phase with the patients' date of birth.Simultaneously use traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)theory to classify patients with vestibular peripheral vertigo by patients' constitution and explore the correlation between characteristics of the evolutive phase through date of births and the patients' body constitution.Methods: The basic data of 156 patients with vestibular peripheral vertigo that met the inclusion criteria were collected,and the body's constitution survey was conducted using the Constitution in Chinese Medicine Questionnaire(CCMQ).SPSS 23.0 was used for statistics to summarize the characteristics of the five evolutive phases and six climatic factors of the patients' date of birth,distribution of the patients' TCM constitution,and study the correlation between the two.Result: 1.General information:(1)Gender: 59 of the 156 patients with vestibular peripheral vertigo were male and 97 were female;(2)Age: Among the 156 patients,the youngest was 26 years old and the oldest was 76 years old,with an average age 47.68±10.62 years old.2.Characteristics of date of birth by the theory of the five evolutive phases and six climatic factors: There were a maximum of 24 patients with peripheral vertigo with yearly stem in the year of Xin and a minimum of 10 patients with yearly stem in the year of Geng;the difference in distribution was not statistically significant(P> 0.05).A maximum of 24 birth date cases were born in the year evolutive phase of Shao Shui and a minimum of 10 birth date cases were born in the year evolutive phase of Tai Jin;the difference in distribution was statistically significant(P <0.05).A maximum of 27 birth date cases were born in the host evolutive phase of Tai Mu and a minimum of 9 birth date cases were born in the host evolutive phase of Tai Huo;the difference in distribution was statistically significant(P <0.05).A maximum of 26 birth date cases were born in the guest evolutive phase of Shao Tu and a minimum of 9 birth date cases were born in the guest evolutive phase of Tai Huo;the difference in distribution was not statistically significant(P> 0.05).A maximum of 35 birth date cases were born in the host climatic qi of Jue Yin Feng Mu and a minimum of 20 date of birth cases were born in the host climatic qi of Yang Ming Zao Jin;the difference in distribution was not statistically significant(P> 0.05).A maximum of 32 birth date cases were born in the guest climatic qi of Yang Ming Zao Jin and a minimum of 18 birth date cases were born in the guest climatic qi of Shao Yin Jun Huo;the difference in distribution was not statistically significant(P> 0.05).A maximum of 31 birth date cases were born in the celestial manager qi of Jue Yin Feng Mu with qi in the earth of Shao Yang Xiang Huo and a minimum of 21 birth date cases were born in the celestial manager qi of Shao Yin Jun Huo with qi in the earth of Yang Ming Zao Jin;the difference in distribution was not statistically significant(P> 0.05).The number of patients with vestibular peripheral vertigo were born in the harmonious year was 87 and the number of patients born in inharmonious year was 69;the difference in distribution was statistically significant(P <0.05).3.The patients constitution distribution: The distribution of constitution types in 156 patients from high to low was 57 cases(36.5%)of Qi deficiency,36 cases(23.1%)of phlegm dampness,17 cases(10.9%)of Yin deficiency,and 14 cases(9.0%)of Qi depression.Moreover,10 cases(6.4%)of yang deficiency,8 cases(5.1%)of harmonious constitution,8 cases(5.1%)of damp heat constitution,4 cases(32.6%)of blood stasis constitution,2 cases(1.3%)of idiopathic constitution;the differences in body constitution are statistically significant(P <0.05).4.Correlation between the characteristics of birth date's five evolutive phase and six climatic factors and patients' body constitution: patients with vestibular peripheral vertigo and yin deficiency with different date of birth of the guest climatic qi has a statistically significant different,the number of patients with date of birth in guest climatic qi of Yang Ming Zao Jin were the most and the number of patients with date of birth in guest climatic qi of Shao Yin Jun Huo were the least;the difference in distribution was statistically significant(P <0.05).There was no statistically significant differences in the distribution of the nine body constitutions of patients with vestibular peripheral vertigo of different date of birth in yearly stems,year evolutive phase,host climatic qi,celestial manager qi,and qi in the earth(P>0.05).Conclusions: 1.The probability of evolutive phase of birth dates of patients' with vestibular peripheral vertigo: year evolutive phase in Shao Shui,host evolutive phase in Tai Mu,evolutive phase combine with yearly weather,same yearly weather,naturalization,and harmonious year;the above factors may be related to the onset of vestibular peripheral vertigo.Guest evolutive phase,host climatic qi,guest climatic qi,celestial manager qi,and qi in the earth were examined as P>0.05;it was not statistically significant and could not be considered as related to the onset of vestibular peripheral vertigo.2.The occurrence of vestibular peripheral vertigo is closely related to the distribution of patients' body constitution.The top four constitutions are qi deficiency,phlegm dampness,yin deficiency,and qi stagnation.3.There's relationship between the patients' with vestibular peripheral vertigo born in the guest climatic qi and their body's constitution.Patients with vestibular peripheral vertigo born in the guest climatic qi of Yang Ming Zao Yin are more likely to have yin deficiency constitution. |
