Purposes:Study the effect of yishenmingmu decoction on improving vision, the area of lenticular opacities, liver and kidney deficiency syndrome in Age-Related Cataract(ARC) patients who belong to early and middle phase in clinical. To evaluate the different efficency between yishenmingmu decoction and Zhangyanming capsules.The possible mechemism of yishenmingmu decoction for ARC in early and middle phase were explored.Method:With the table of random number, the patients whose western medical diagnose is Age-Related Cataract(ARC) in early and middle phase and Chinese Traditional medical pattern of deficiency of Yin of liver and kidney were divided into tow groups:Group A (Yishenmingmu decoction) includes 30 cases, male 14 cases,female 16 cases; Group B (Zhangyanming capsules) includes 30 cases, male 12 cases,female 18 cases. The evaluation indexes for treatment were including vision, the area of lenticular opacities, the effects of liver disorder and kidney disorder,and the Superoxide Dismutase.The therapeutic effect for yishenmingmu decoction and related mechanism were evaluated by comparison of before and after treatment and eomparison of different groups.Results:1.Both of methods have effect on treating the Age-Related Cataract(ARC) in early and middle phase of deficiency of Yin of liver and kidney and make a difference before and after the treatment from the indexs (P<0.05). 2.Compared the clinical effect, there were no difference on vision,the area of lenticular opacity,the multiple scores of manifestation of TCM, and Superoxide Dismutase between the group of method of nourishing Yin and supplementing qi and promoting blood circulation and the group of Zhangyanming capsules (P<0.05).Conclusion:The traditional method of Yishenmingmu decoction has significant curative effect on the deficiency of yin of liver and kidney of Age-Related Cataract(ARC) in early and middle phase. It can be used as a specialized decoction on treating the deficiency of yin of liver and kidney of Age-Related Cataract(ARC) in early and middle phase.
