Analysis On Related Factors Of Intracranial Infection In Patients After Craniotomy

Objective:To explore the risk factors of the intracranial infection (ICI) for providing a reference for the prevention and control of intracranial infection in patients after craniotomy.Methods:The clinical data of 30 patients with postoperative intracranial infection were retrospectively analyzed and compared with 50 control patients without intracranial infection after craniotomy chosen randomly from 1200 patients performing neurosurgery in our hospital during January 2006 to December 2009. The possible risk factors were firstly analyzed with Single factor analysis method and screened the risk factors associated with ICI. And then analyzed with multiple regression method (P<0.05).Results:Univariate regression analysis showed that the surgical approach way, operation duration, incision of cerebrospinal fluid leakage. ventricle external drainage were risk factors for postoperative infection in patients after craniotomy (P<0.05). The Logistic regression analysis found that ventricle external drainage, incision of cerebrospinal fluid leakage, operation time and the posterior fossa were surgery risk factors for post-craniotomy intracranial infection The ventricle external drainage have the greatest chance to lead to intracranial infection (OR=8.096), which in turn for the posterior fossa surgery (OR=7.535), cerebrospinal fluid leakage and surgical time.Conclusion:Post-craniotomy intracranial infection in patients can be related with a single factor or multiple factors.But the ventricle external drainage. incision of cerebrospinal fluid leakage, operation time and the posterior fossa are the high risk factors for postoperative intracranial infection.
