Objective:To observe the influence to the vertebral-basilar artery hemodynamics according to TCD by acupuncturing unilateral or bilateral "jingming" points in patients with cervical vertigo, and to provide objective basis for choosing proper acupoint in clinical practice. Methods:The clinical study of 52 cases selected were randomly divided into two groups, which had 26 cases each. We needled two "jingming" points in bilateral group, and the right one in unilateral group, observing the instant affect changes shown in the two groups'BA, bilateral VA, PICA blood flow velocity tested before and after treatment by TCD. After the data were statistically analyzed, we should see the difference between the two groups. Results:It shows that, for VA and PICA low velocity type, there is highly significant difference from the beginning to the end of the treatment course P<0.01, indicating that it can improve the blood flow velocity of VA and PICA low velocity type by both acupuncting the unilateral and bilateral "jingming" points. And between groups, the VA and PICA low velocity type P>0.05, indicating there is no significant difference between the two groups on improving the blood flow velocity of VA and PICA low velocity type. Conclusion:There is no significant difference between needling the unilateral and bilateral "jingming" points in treating patients with cervical vertigo vertebral-basilar artery hemodynamics. It indicates that we can get the same effect using one or two "jingming" points. And it gave an objective basis for using "jingming" point to treat cervical vertigo.
