Objective:Through the observation of the ulcerative colitis different TCM syndrome types in different stages or different classifications, discusses the distribution of TCM syndrome types. Explore the correlations between TCM syndrome types and ulcerative colitis different stages, classifications, in order to provide reference for TCM syndrome differentiation and improve the level of the design ideas for clinical ulcerative colitis proprietary Chinese medicine, then it can help to improve the clinical curative effect. Methods:From March in 2007 to April in 2010, We have selected 110 suitable cases at digestion department in Chinese medicine hospital in Guangzhou City and out-patient ward patients. All data were analysised with spssl7.0 software to carry on the analysis processing. The symptoms of 110 cases as variables, and all the signs and symptoms of both quantitative and assignment, without the symptom is 0, the symptom is 1. Choose the R system clustering cluster method, i. e. the clustering of index, The experts analysis clustering results, according to the reference to the digestive system of combining traditional Chinese and western medicine in chongqing professional committee of the disease of ulcerative colitis combine traditional Chinese and western medicine treatment plan in 2003.Results:The four examination techniques database of TCM syndrome in 110 patients with ulcerative colitis were classified as six TCM syndromes using the cluster analysis. The six TCM syndromes were:syndrome of dampness-heat of large intestine, syndrome of qi deficiency in the spleen and stomach, syndrome of yang deficiency of spleen and kidney, syndrome of stagnation of liver qi and spleen deficiency, syndrome of yin and blood deficiency, syndrome of qi and blood stasis. In the activity period, the frequency of occurrence of different syndromes were found to be large intestine dampness-heat type(40%)> stagnation of liver qi and spleen deficiency type(20%)>qi and blood.stasis type) qi deficiency in the spleen and stomach type> yang deficiency of spleen and kidney type>yin and blood deficiency. In the remission period, the frequency of occurrence of different syndromes were found to be qi deficiency in the spleen and stomach type(45%)> yang deficiency of spleen and kidney type(25%)> stagnation of liver qi and spleen deficiency type>large intestine dampness-heat type=yin and blood deficiency) qi and blood stasis type. the main symptoms(frequency is more than 50%) of 31 cases of dampness-heat of large intestine type including:diarrhoea, mucopurulent bloody stool, abdominal distension, thermalgia, abdominal distension, anal burning and red tongue, yellow tongue coating, slimy tongue fur, etc.26 cases of qi deficiency in the spleen and stomach type including:diarrhoea, loss of appetite, eructation, break wind, mental weariness, hypodynamia, insomnia, pink tongue, tooth marks tongue, white tongue coating, thin tongue fur, and thin varnish etc.17 cases of yang deficiency of spleen and kidney type including:diarrhoea, chronic diarrhoea, encounter cold aggravating, abdominal pain, crymodynia, prefer warmth, soreness of the waist, pale, clear abundant urine, pale white tongue, white tongue coating, deep pulse, etc.18 cases of stagnation of liver qi and spleen deficiency type including: diarrhoea, dry stool before loose stool, emotions inducing, eructation, break wind,, right-midsection distension, irritability, pink tongue, white tongue coating, thread pulse and thin pulse, etc.12 cases of qi and blood stasis type including:blood in one's stool, dark red stool, dark red less than white, tenesmus, abdominal pain, sting, dark red tongue with petechiae, white tongue coating, sluggish pulse, etc.6 cases of yin and blood deficiency type including:diarrhoea, chronic diarrhoea, blood in one's stool, dark red stool, desire to defecate with dyschizia, abdominal pain, burning pain, light pain, dizziness, mental weariness, insomnia, pin tongue, red tongue, little or no fur, fast pulse, and thread pulse, etc. Conclusion:Ulcerative colitis clinical common six syndromes:syndrome of dampness-heat of large intestine, syndrome of qi deficiency in the spleen and stomach, syndrome of yang deficiency of spleen and kidney, syndrome of stagnation of liver qi and spleen deficiency, syndrome of yin and blood deficiency, syndrome of qi and blood stasis. That corresponds with the reference to the digestive system of combining traditional Chinese and western medicine in chongqing professional committee of the disease of ulcerative colitis combine traditional Chinese and western medicine treatment plan in 2003. In the activity period, the most is excess syndromes; In the remission period, the most is deficiency syndromes. So in the clinical treatment, treating excess syndromes with purgative methods is used extensively in the activity period, treating deficiency syndromes with tonifying methods is used extensively in the remission period.
