With the medical technology development, the working pressure of nurses becomes higher and higher because of a serious shortage of nurses, relatively more critical patients in general hospitals, high intensity of health care and tasks. In addition, the nurses have multiple roles of professional activities, such as the patient's caregivers, educators, organizations, managers and consultants, and each role requires nurses to have a strong responsibility and dedication spirit. High-intensity working pressure of long hours enable nurses to generate energy fatigue and occupational burnout, long-term pressure will further affect the physical and mental health, resulting in low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, tension, and other psychological problems. Face the pressure, using what kind of coping styles is essential. Mature coping styles can help nurses to maintain physical and mental health and alleviate the side effects caused by work pressure. Immature coping styles will be harmful to the health of nurses and will not be conducive to mental health. Assistant nurses is a new force of care team. Their main work is to solve the living care of patients and some non-remedial technical work. Thereforming of health care and increased demand for health care demand the assistant nurses not only have a good professional and moral quality, perfect operational skills, but also have good physical and psychological qualities.Objective:To understand the work pressure, mental health status and useing of coping styles of assistant nurses through a survey questionnaire. To analysis the main source of work stress, of assistant nurses. To discuss the influence of working pressure and coping styles on the mental health of assistant nurse. To provide a scientific basis and reference to maintain their mental health and improve the management efficiency of managers.Methods:Questionnaire was used.140 randomly selected assistant nurses from two three A-level general hospitals which located in Changchun and Beijing seperately were surveyed, Data collection :general questionnaire, nursing job stressors scale, coping style questionnaire, SCL-90 symptom self-assessment form. SPSS13.0 software package will be used to statistical describe and analysis the data.Results:1. The main score of working pressure of assistant nurses is 2.26. That show the work stress of assistant nurses is at a moderate level,They gain higher scores in these aspects: the nursing profession, patient care, time allocation and workload, which indicated that these are their main sources of stress.2, In different ages assistant nurses, the pressure of the management and interpersonal skills have significant difference(P <0.01), the assistant nurses who is under the 20 years old felt more pressure in these aspects than the assistant nurses who is over the 20 years old. In the assistant nurses with different educational background, there has a statistical difference in the pressure of nursing specialties, assistant nursing work, management and interpersonal skills. (P <0.05), Junior college, undergraduate education assistant nurses felt relatively large pressure in the nursing profession and work aspects, Secondary education assistant nurses felt more pressure in the management and human relations issues.3. The working pressure of different departments is different and the difference is statistically significant.(P <0.01) The assistant nurses worked in obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, emergency department, intensive care unit felt relatively large work pressure. The assistant nurses worked in obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, emergency department, and intensive care unit felt more pressure in patient care. The assistant nurses worked in emergency department, out-patient relationships, assistant nurses felt more pressure in interpersonal relations area.4. Assistant nurses in different hospitals of the pressure source in patient care and management and interpersonal skills, two dimensions significantly (P <0.01), Changchun City, a top three hospital assistant nurses compared with assistant nurses in Beijing, a top three hospital feeling the pressure Great.5. Assistant nurses had 99 people mainly in mature coping style, accounting for 76.7%; 30 people mainly in an immature type of coping style, accounting for 23.3%. Different ages and qualifications of assistant nurses should be taken to address the problem the way, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05),> 20-year-old assistant nurse, college, undergraduate graduate assistant nurses greater use of problem-solving coping style. Secondary assistant nurses greater use of self- blame coping style.7. SCL-90 assistant nurses, all factors and total score with the Chinese norm relatively healthy adults, all factors and total score were higher than those of healthy adults, the norm.8. Assistant nurses of different age obsessive-compulsive symptoms, paranoia, psychosis, depression, phobicThe difference was statistically significant (P <0.05 or P <0.01), in which≤20-year-old assistant nurses scored higher than "20-year-old nurse's aide. Assistant nurses with different education background of depression, phobic, the difference was statistically significant ((P <0.05), secondary assistant nurses scored high 9. In this survey, the top three hospitals in two assistant nurses in the obsessive- compulsive symptoms, depression, interpersonal sensitivity, anxiety, terror, and the total score, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Secondary assistant nurses in the management and interpersonal skills, feel the pressure is higher than junior college, undergraduate assistant nurses; junior college, undergraduate assistant nurses in the nursing profession and work, feelings of pressure is more than secondary assistant nurses3. Obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, emergency department, intensive care unit of the assistant nurses feel the pressure of relatively large.4. Assistant nurses the most coping styles used to solve the problem, followed by assistance, fantasy, retreat, self-blame, rationalization.5. Qualifications, assistant nurses in response to the way a significant difference. Junior college, undergraduate graduate assistant nurses greater use of problem-solving coping style. Secondary assistant nurses with high self-blame coping style scores.6. SCL-90 assistant nurses, all factors and total score with the Chinese norm relatively healthy adults, the China factor and total score were higher than the norm of healthy adults, suggesting that the mental health status of assistant nurses less than the norm. Assistant nurses in mental health and work pressure has significant correlation.7. Use of problem-solving coping style and SCL-90 was negatively correlated with various factors, using immature coping styles and the SCL-90 of various factors were positively related to use of mature coping style is conducive to mental health nurses. To immature coping style is not conducive to mental health nurses.8. Tip assistant nurses, nursing administrators should be given the necessary support, concerned about their psychological needs, improve the response capability to reduce the negative psychological defense to improve mental capacity to adapt.
