[Objective]To explore the relationship between health status of nurses and their job stress based on the investigation on the health status of nurses in Linyi City and description of the stress levels, and to analyze the main source of sub-health factors and the relationship between sub-health status and coping styles. To find ways to respond effectively to safeguard and promote physical and mental health status of first-line nursing staff; and provide a reference for workers in nursing management and health management to arouse the health sector.[Methods]A convenience sampling of a total of 600 clinical nurses of 7 general hospitals in Linyi City participated as a research sample questionnaire.7 Investigators were trained befroe action and 600 papers were distributed between 2010.8 and 2010.11, The questionnaires included sub-health status questionnaires, nurses job stress questionnaire, and Simple Coping Style Questionnaire (simplified coping style questionnaire, SCSQ). SPSS17.0 statistical software is used for statistical analysis of data and descriptive indicators,such as frequency and percentage, are used to indicate sub-health and work stress. Then Spearman correlation is provided to calculate the correlation between sub-health and normal health,and research the relationship between work stress and health condition. The paper also uses T test to find coping differences between health nurses and sub-health nurses.[Results]1.The incidence of sub-health of nurses in 7 general hospitals of Linyi City was 79.04 percent. The main manifestations of sub-health symptoms included fatigue (60.11%), poor memory(51.21%), dreaminess and insomnia (48.61%); vigor decrudescence(47.68%), negative emotions(43.04%) and so on.2.Sub-health status was positively correlated with age, nursing age,care, professional title, income, marital status.3.Stress level of nurses:mild pressure(43.41%), moderate pressure(46.94%), severe pressure (9.65%).4.The pressure originated mainly from the workload and time distribution, the specific pressure from low wages and welfare benefits, heavy workload, and inadequate nurses.5.Job stress of nurses was positively correlated with sub-health status, nursing ages, educational level, headship, income; and the level of hospital,, employment forms, marriage showed significant correlation.6.The positive coping styles in healthy nurses and sub-healthy nurses had no significant difference (p> 0.05), but the score of negative coping styles in the sub-healthy nurses (p<0.01) was significantly higher than that of healthy nurses.[Conclusion]1.The detection rate of sub-healthy nurses in 7 general hospitals of Linyi City was 79.04%. The main factors were work stress, negative coping styles and age, nursing ages, educational level, headship, marriage.2.The stress level of nurses was high and the pressure originated mainly from the workload and time distribution, the specific pressure from low wages and welfare benefits, heavy workload, and inadequate nurses. Nursing ages, marriage, headship, income, and the level of hospital, employment forms showed significant correlation with sub-health status.3.Stress was the major cause for sub-health and sub-healthy nurses used negative coping styles.
