Increasing with the development of the society, social competition, people’srequirement for medical level, nursing work faces enormous career pressure. The nurses ofmilitary hospital as a special group in nursing staff, are composed of military nurses、civilian nurses and employed nurses, sharing the responsibility of the military healthservice. They undertake the high load clinical work, and face the complicated medicalenvironment of army, long-term stressor stimulus will directly affect their mental health,and then affect their life、work efficiency and quality.Besides, facing the stress, differentcoping style will affect mental health.Objective:By analyzing the status of job stressors, coping style and mental health, the study is toinvestigate the inherent relationship between mental health and job stressors and copingstyle of nurses in Military Hospital, find out the influential factors of mental health andsuggest the corresponding intervention measures. Provide scientific base for us to improvethe mental health level of nurses in Military Hospital.Method:Applying the Common Questionnaire、the Nurse Job Stressors Scale、Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire and the SCL-90Questionnaire to study266nurses in MilitaryHospital. Pearson correlation analysis was used to get the relationship between jobstressors, coping style and mental health, and logistic regression was used to find outinfluential factors of mental health. Set up Epidata database, SPSS17.0was used to thecalculation and statistics.Results:1. There were162nurses with over160of total score of the SCL-90, the proportion was60.90%.Among these nurses, the proportion of total score between160and199was52.63%,6.77%between200and239, and1.50%over240. The nurses got more marksthan the health women of Chinese norm, the difference was statistically significant. TheSCL-90total score of different department nurses had difference,the emergencydepartment was the highest, others were surgery and ICU.2. The stressors scores of the investigated nurses were as follows: The total mean scorewas2.080.14.2.550.33at workload and time distribution,2.180.18at the patientnursing,2.150.27at nursing profession and work,1.740.25at the management aswell as human relations and1.740.45at the working environments and equipments.More workload was the first stressor. The total score of different age and departmentnurses had difference.The stressors scores of36to48ages was the highest. The paediatricdepartment was the highest, others were gynecology and surgery.3. Compared with the health adults of Chinese norm on the coping style, the nurses gotless marks on the inactive coping style, the difference was statistically significant. Try toset eyes on the best sides was the most used coping style.The energetic and inactivecoping had difference in different department nurses.4. The SCL-90score of nurses was positively correlated with the pressure, and morepositively correlated with the inactive coping style.5. Analyzed by multiple linear stepwise regression, the inactive coping style and themanagement as well as human relations entered into the formula.Conclusion:1. The nurses’ mental health was worse than the women norm, work-related stress was in moderate level, and the inactive coping style score was lower than the adult norm inMilitary Hospital.2. The heavier of the working pressure, the worse of the mental health would be, theinactive coping style did bad for the mental health.3. The inactive coping style and the management as well as human relations impacted onthe mental health of nurses, the inactive coping style was the most significant factor.
