The Retrospective Analysis Of Spleen Invigorating And Kidney Nourishing Therapy For Secondary Osteoporosis Correlative To SLE

Osteoporosis (Osteoporosis, OP) is a multicausal, systemic, metabolic skeletal disease characterized by decreased bone quantity in the unit volume and deterioration in microstructures of osseous tissue, which engenders increase in danger of bone fracture owing to the increase of osseous fragility and the decrease of osseous intensity. Its clinical manifestations focus on muscle and bone soreness, shortened height, compressed spine and bone fracture. Nowadays, the therapy of this disease limited to gastrointestinal tolerance and high expenses, ties in bone-invigorating therapeusis and administration of calcitonin, fluoridizer and bisphosphonate. With a view to secondary osteoporosis correlative to glucocorticoid-taken patients of SLE and treatment based on syndrome differentiation, we use Jianpiyishen decoction to treat OP in clinic. Comparing with control group which treated by single chemotherapy, we tried to evaluate therapeutic effect and safety of Jianpiyishen decoction.Objective: Comparing with control group treated by single chemotherapy, we objectively evaluate the efficacy and safety of Jianpiyishen decoction, which offers the theories and methods for the treatment of Osteoporosis by Chinese traditionalmedicine.Method: A total of 30 cases conducted from March 2008 to March 2009 inJiangsu Provincical TCM Hospital and Jiangsu Provincical People's Hospital according to the standard of SLE and TCM in line with the standard syndrome of losing transport because of splenic asthenia and kidney-yin deficiency. These patients were divided into two groups, one group of 15 patients in treatment of Jianpiyishen decoction combined with chemotherapy (glucocorticoid & immunosuppressive agents) and control group of 15 patients in treatment of single chemotherapy(glucocorticoid & immunosuppressive agents).Laboratory endexes pre- and post-treatment for these patients were gathered and evaluated,which contains bone metabolic markers,bone density, immune indexes of SLE and safty indices. Results: Jianpiyishen decoction have the significant effect in improving the clinical symptoms and physical signs of patient (p<0.01), and have a nicer comprehensive effect than the control group (p<0.05).There were no significant differences between the logs of bone density in treatment group before and after treatment. The two groups both have good security in the clinical study.Conclusion: The clinical study confirms that Jianpiyishen decoction can improve the clinical symptoms and body signs of patient, prevent bone density decreasing, and have the nice security.
