The Clinical Research On The Children With Cerebral Palsy Of Pi Xu Type Under The Treatment With Spleen Invigorating Theory Of Three-needles

Objective:To evaluate the effects of the treatment with spleen invigorating theory of three-needles in treating children with cerebral palsy of pi xu type, this trial adopted the spleen deficiency scale for children with cerebral palsy and the ADL scale(Barthel Index) to assess the clinical symptoms of the children before and after the treatment.Methods:All the cases in the trial were from the Outpatient Department of Acupuncture of Shenzhen Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from October 1,2008 to March 31,2009.On the premise of agreements of the patients' parents or other guardians,this trial had put 40 children who met the western internalizing and depleting standards into two groups by simple random sampling,namely 20 children in treating group were given the treatment with spleen invigorating theory of three-needles while the other 20 in control group were given the acupuncture treatment according the teaching material.During the observation period,all the children were given comprehensive rehabilitation training at home by their parents under the direction of the doctor and took Yi Gong San Granules.The therapy was done once per day and 5 days per week with an interval of 2 days.A course of treatment was 120 times. We use the spleen deficiency scale for children with cerebral palsy and the ADL scale(Barthel Index) to assess the clinical symptoms of the children before and after the treatment.Results:According the evaluation the spleen deficiency scale for children with cerebral palsy and the ADL scale(Barthel Index),the clinical symptoms of both two group children were improved,and there was obvious difference between before and after the treatment(P<0.05).But to improve the clinical symptoms,the treating group were better than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:According to the theory of spleen is the origin of the acquired constitution,using the treatment with spleen invigorating theory of three-needles to treat children with cerebral palsy can improve their functional gastrointestinal disorder,and can improve malnutrition,low immunity and other conditions,and thus promote children's activities of daily living.The trial has provided a new Chinese Medicine train of thought for treating children with cerebral palsy.
