Objective To measure the level of serum resistin in patients with atherosclerotic cerebral infarction(ACI),analyse the correlation between resistin and some parameters of glucose metabolism, lipid metabolism and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP),and investigate the role of resistin in the development of cerebral infarction. Methods Eighty-two patients with acute atherosclerotic cerebral infarction and fifty healthy subjects were selected.Height, weight, systolic blood pressure(SBP),diastolic blood pressure(DBP),body mass index(BMI) and waist-to-hip ratio(WHR) were measured. The level of serum resistin was determined by ELISA method.Meantime, the levels of leptin, insulin, fasting blood glucose(FBG),triglyceride(TG),total holesterol(TC),high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)and hs-CRP were detected. Quantitative insulin sensitivity check index(QUICKI) were calculate.Results①There were no significant difference among the sex,age and BMI between ACI group and the control group(P>0.05).The WHR,SBP,DBP in ACI group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.001).②The serum levels of resistin, leptin, insulin, FBG,LDL-C and hs-CRP in ACI group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05),the HDL-C and QUICKI were lower than those in the control group. No significant difference was found in TC and TG between the two groups(P>0.05).③The Single factor linear correlation analysis showed that the resistin had positively correlation with BMI,SBP,DBP,FINS,FBG,LDL-C and hs-CRP,and had negatively correlation with QUICKI and HDL-C(P<0.05).No relationship was found among resistin and WHR,Leptin,TC and TG(P>0.05).④Taking the occurrence of ACI as the dependent variable and other markers as the independent variables, multiple Logistic regression analysis was performed and showed that ACI was positively correlated with age,resistin,leptin,hs-CRP,SBP,TG,and LDL-C(P<0.05),while negatively correlated with QUICKI(P<0.05).⑤Taking leptin as the dependent variable and other markers as the independent variables, multiple stepwise regression analysis was performed and showed that the resistin was positively correlated with BMI,SBP,LDL-C,HDL-C and hs-CRP(P<0.05),while negatively correlated with QUICKI(P<0.05).Conclusion The increased level of resistin may play important role in the development of atherosclerotic cerebral infarction,by affecting glucose and lipid metabolism and influencing the risk factors of cerebrovascular disease such as hypertension, obesity and atherosclerotic inflammatory marker.
