Objective: To observe the difference of the effect between the treatment of modern medicine treatment of routine method add Chinese medicine daisaikoto's oral medication and simple Modern medicine treatment to the index such as the serum amylase, C reactive protein and APACHE—II score., and then to make comparisons in stomachache release time, absolute diet time and cumulative time in hospital in order to illustrate the curative effect of daisaikoto's treatment on acute pancreatitis of "stagnation of QI due to depression of the liver" and it's priority compared to simple modern medicine treatment. Methods: According to standard from AP diagnosing and curing guide (protocol) of China formulated by digestion branch association of Chinese Medical Association in Dec. 13th 2003, to divide 36 patients of mild acute pancreatitis into three groups in random: Simple modern medicine treatment group, Modern medicine & Chinese medicine plocebo treatment group and Modern medicine &. daisaikoto treatment group, each group contains 12 patients, and make a randmised clinical trial. The TCM diagnostic criteria of stagnation of QI due to depression of the liver is: abdominal distension or pain, belchingdry often or vomiting, even worse constipation, the pain may lessen after breaking wind, or alternate attack of chill and fever meantime, white or yellow thin lingual fur, chord pulse, which referred to the AP diagnosis criteria of stagnation of QI due to depression of the liver from Emergency study of Chinese medicine published by Guangdong high education publishing house in May 1997. Modern medicine treatment group was treated only by conventional therapy, Modern medicine & Chinese medicine plocebo treatment group was treated based on conventional therapy and one dose of Chinese medicine plocebo per day, and Modern medicine & daisaikoto treatment group was treated based on conventional therapy and oral medication of one dose of daisaikoto per day; the three groups' observation course of treatment is 7 days. Results: Compared with the patients of Simple modern medicine treatment group and Modern medicine & Chinese medicine plocebo treatment group, there're statistical significances in the serum amylase in 1, 3, 5 days and in C reactive protein level in 1, 3 days after hospital admission of patients of Modern medicine & daisaikoto treatment group (P<0. 05) .Compared with the patients of Simple modern medicine treatment group, there's a statistical significance in C reactive protein level in 5, 7 days after hospital admission of patients of Modern medicine & daisaikoto treatment group (P<0.05) . There's a statistical significance in C reactive protein level in 7 days after hospital admission between modern medicine & Chinese medicine plocebo treatment group and Modern medicine & daisaikoto treatment group (P<0. 05) .There's no statistical significance in other numerus comparisons (P>0. 05) .There's no statistical significance in comparison of variation of APACHE—II score between each group after hospital admission. There's a statistical significance in comparisons of stomachache release time, absolute diet time and cumulative time in hospital (P<0.05) .Conclusions: Modern medicine treatment add Chinese medicine daisaikoto's oral medication can strikingly decurtate the course of disease and can elevate therapeutic effect of MAP patients. Compared with simple modern medicine treatment, routine method of modern medicine associated mith Chinese medicine daisaikoto' soral medication is a better choice in curing MAP. There is favourable perspective in clinical application of routine method of modern medicine treatment add Chinese medicine daisaikoto' soral medication and it deserves to do more research work and go on with clinical application.
