| Object: To observe the therapeutic effect of compound shaoganroujin decoction on the patients suffering from tension-type headache and explore the mechanism,so as to find new ideas and effective prescriptions.Methods:60 patients with tension-type headache were randomly divided into the treatment group(compound shaoganroujin decoction-group,n=30)and control group(compound yangjiao capsules-group,n=30). Both were treated for 28 days, and then being compared with their Symptoms, physical signs and plasma concentrations of ET-1 and Ang II before and after treatment.Results:The statistic analysis revealed that compound shaoganroujin decoction is safe and effective to cure tension-type headache. The total effective rate is 90.00%;while the control group is 86.67%. There was quite significant difference between them(P<0.01). All accompanied signs and symptoms improved in the treatment group(P<0.01),while in the control group the irritability was improved(P<0.05),and there are no effect on the other accompanied signs and symptoms. The efficacy of the treatment group is better than that of the control group(P<0.01). The compound shaoganroujin decoction decreased the plasma concentrations of ET-1 and Ang II significantly(P<0.01).Conclusion:The compound shaoganroujin decoction could evidently reduce the headache by eliminating the local intramuscular tenderness , appeasing tense and worrying emotions and decreasing the plasma concentrations of ET-1 and Ang II.
