Analysis The Curative Effect Of Acute Ankle Sprain By Shuangbai Ointment

Objective: To observe the difference of clinical effect on acute ankle sprain between Shuang-bai ointment and Dogs-kin paste.Methods: In January 2007 to March, 50 cases of acute ankle sprain came from the First affiliated hospital of GZTCM, those patients were included in to study. All patients were single-blind and randomized into two groups, treated with Shuang-bai ointment and Dogs-kin paste. Scores of pain, tenderness, swelling and function were recorded before and the Fourth days and eighthdays after treatment. The data was analysis to compare the clinical effect of Shuang-bai ointment and Dogs-kin paste.Results: No matter how longs the treatment period is, Shuang-bai ointment is significantly superior to Dogs-kin paste in pain relieving, but no significant difference in tenderness reducing. Shuang-bai ointment is quicker than Dogs-kin paste in eliminating swelling, the eighth days after treatment effect on swelling eliminating is same between two grouping, but Shuang-bai ointment is superior to Dogs-kin paste in ankle function recovery.Both two groups had no adverse reaction.Conclusion: Shuangbai Ointment have the effect of circulation invigorating, swelling eliminating and pain reducing, it has excellent effects on the treatment of acute ankle sprain, pain reducing,swelling eliminating and ankle recovery, it is cheap, easy to be carried and stored, and should be extended its use in clinical.
