ObjectiveThis study is the method by comparing the Feitengbafa group, the three needles of ankle group and the experimental group (the treatment of Feitengbafa combined with the treatment of three needles of ankle) differences in the clinical efficacy in the treatment of acute ankle sprain, and research its theories to explore the better way of acupuncture treatment.MethodsBased on the method of opening points, it can be categorized into Wang’s Feitengbafa and Xu’s Feitengbafa, and Xu’s Feitengbafa has been chosen in this study. Also, Jin’s three needles of ankle has been chosen among lots treatments of three needles of ankle.90 insomnia patients who have been chosen by clinical standards were randomly divided into the experimental group, the three needles of ankle group and the Feitengbafa group,30 cases in each group. The experimental group combined with the treatment of Feitengbafa and the treatment of three needles of ankle. The group of three needles of ankle only used acupuncture treatment of three needles of ankle. The group of Feitengbafa performed only acupuncture treatment of Feitengbafa. There were two courses in the total acupuncture treatment, once a day, five times each course and two days no treatment between first and second course. One month after the total acupuncture treatment, patients be observed again. Scores efficacy of ankle were observed. The data were collected in four times. The first time was before treatment. The second time was one week after treatment. The third time was two weeks after treatment(the end of the total treatment). The last time was one month after the end of the total treatment. SPSS19.0 software for data has been chosen for analysis.Results1. The control penetrance comparison among groupsTwo weeks after the beginning of treatment,10 patients in the experimental group were cured trial, patients with 17 cases markedly effective, patients with 3 cases effective, and patient with 0 case invalid, and the control penetrance (cure rate plus markedly effective rate) was 90%. The group of three needles of ankle were 5 cases,11 cases,14 cases and 0 case, and the control penetrance was 53.4%. The group of Feitengbafa were 4 cases,13 cases,13 cases, 0 case, and the control penetrance was 56.7%. Three groups for acute ankle sprain were effective. After statistical analysis, the experimental group had better effective than the group of three needles of ankle and the group of Feitengbafa (p<0.01). There were no significant differences in efficacy for acute ankle sprain between the group of three needles of ankle and the group of Feitengbafa (p> 0.05).2. Comparison of scale score differences between before and after treating among groupsThe scale score differences between before and after treatment were compared among groups. Three groups for patients with ankle pain、tenderness、 the degree of ankle swelling、ankle functional activities and the total scores were improved. There were no significant differences in ankle pain and tenderness(P> 0.05),but there were significant differences in ankle swelling、functional activities and the total scores. For improvement of the degree of ankle swelling, the experimental group had better effective than the group of three needles of ankle (P<0.017), but In the total scores (p> 0.05) and functional activities (p> 0.017) were no significant improvement differences. The experimental group was better than the group of Feitengbafa in the degree of ankle swelling、functional activities (P<0.017), and in total scores (p<0.05). Comparising the group of three needles of ankle and the group of Feitengbafa, the group of three needles of ankle was better than the group of Feitengbafa in improving ankle functional activities (P<0.017), but in total scores (p> 0.05)and the degree of ankle swelling (p> 0.017) improvement was no significant differences.3. Comparison total scores for each scale score among groups during the treatmentDuring the treatment, total scores for each scale score were compared among groups. One week after the beginning of treatment, improvement in total scores for the experimental group was better than the group of three needles of ankle and the group of Feitengbafa (p<0.01). There were no significant differences between the group of three needles of ankle and the group of Feitengbafa (p> 0.05). Two weeks after the beginning of treatment, improvement in total scores for the experimental group was better than the group of three needles of ankle and the group of Feitengbafa (p<0.017). There were no significant differences between the group of three needles of ankle and the group of Feitengbafa (p> 0.017).4. Self comparison of scale scores in each group before and after treatingBy the self comparison of scale scores in three groups before and after treating, they all had therapeutic effect(P<0.01).5 Long-term effectComparison of the total scores for each scale score among three groups after follow-up and after the end of treatment, three groups were far of effect for acute ankle sprain (P<0.01).After the follow-up, comparing each scale score among three groups, there were no significant differences in statistical analysis among three groups (p> 0.05), so it was no significant improvement for acute ankle sprain among three groups.ConclusionFeitengbafa combined with the three needles of ankle for the treatment of acute ankle sprain has much significant improvement and long-term effect. It is better than the treatment of three needles of ankle or the treatment of Feitengbafa only. Three groups have long-term effect, but are no significant differences in statistical analysis. After study and analysis literatures of Feitengbafa, we compared with Eightfold method of the sacred tortoise、Wang’s and Xu’s Feitengbafas in tabularlist, and for the first time supplemented diagrams of Wang’s and Xu’ s Feitengbafa which they had words only more than four hundred years after Zhenjiudacheng('炙大成) (AD.1601). After analysis the literatures of Feitengbafa, we found many times that Xu’s Feitengbafa has based on Post-Heaven Ba Gua (8 Trigrams). After analysis the structure of Najia and Feitengbafa’ s rhymes, we also found that they have been all following the arrangement of Yin and Yang two appearances from Post-Heaven Ba Gua. We found that Eightfold method of the sacred tortoise is similar to Wang’s Feitengbafa but some differences. We speculate Eightfold method of the sacred tortoise may be from Wang’s Feitengbafa. The diagram of Xu’s Feitengbafa also has retained multilevel staggered orderly allover relationship and rich connotation of Zhouyi and TCM. Nowadays, it is a simple specific and canonic model of the relationship between TCM and ZHouyi.
