| Objective:This research is to observe the clinical effectiveness by using the Shangbai ointment in treating Acute Sprain of lateral ligament of ankle joint.Methods:The study has applied a randomized clinical trial. Sixty patients with Acute Sprain of lateral ligament of ankle joint, which were orthopedic outpatient and emergency patients of sanshui Branch of Foshan Hospital of TCM from2011-12to2012-3, were randomly divided into two groups:treatment group and control group. The former included30patients who were treated by external application of Shangbai ointment. The later one included30patients who were sprayed by Yunnanbaiyao Aerosol. Two groups also wore Ankle-foot orthosis and take oral Chinese medicine to promote blood circulation by removing blood stasis. The course of treatment was two weeks. All the patients were received follow-up data to compare the time difference in easement of pain and swelling, score change of Kofoed and difference in overall efficacy after treatment between two groups.Result:1、The total effective rate of two groups were100%after treatment. The cure rate of treatment group was56.7%and in control group was26.7%. There was no difference comparing the total effective rate in two groups. There was difference in the cure rate comparing the treatment group and the control group (P<0.05). The treatment group was better than the control group.2、The result showed that the two group at the time in easement of pain and swelling had statistically significant differences (P<0.01). There was difference in Kofoed score after treatment for three days and four weeks comparing with two groups. Comparing the Kofoed score after treatment for seven days and two weeks, it revealed that they had statistically significant differences. The treatment group was obviously superior to the control group.Conclusion:Compare with the Yunnanbaiyao Aerosol, the short-term curative effect in treating by external application of Shanghai ointment was definite. |
