Therefore it is worth to be studied and disseminated to the medical circles.Conclusion: The cause of cervical spondylosis has been claimed by Chinese Medicine as it is due to malfunction of zang and fu, especially exhibiting syndrome of deficiency of spleen, liver and kidney and also malnutrition of tendon and bone as the main factors. Infection of wind-cold-damp, blockage of channel, stagnancy of qi and blood stasis remain its mechanism. The mechanism of cervical spondylosis in western medicine has been claimed as degenerative of cervical intervertebral discs and secondary inflammation of vertebral articulations. Compression of nerve, swelling of tissues and inflammation of joints remain as the main cause of cervical spondylosis. Tuina treatment of cervical spondylosis in the Chinese medicine context works well as to relaxing muscles and tendons and activating the flow of qi and blood in the channels and collaterals, relieving rigidity of muscles and activating collaterals; promoting blood circulation by removing blood stasis restoring injured soft tissues. Western medicine claimed that removing muscular spasm, improving local circulation, separation of adhesion, improve metabolism, removing aseptic inflammation to a certain extent could enlarge the vertebral spaces, adjust the structure of cervical vertebrae joints, restore micro dislocation or rotation, thereby reduce the compression irritation of nerve-root, sympathetic nerve and vertebral artery, henceforth to eliminate symptoms and signs arise by the cervical spondylosis.
