Objective: To explore the features of automatic thoughts, dysfunctional attitudes and coping modes between lung-cancer patients with depression and without depression. Methods:Self-depressionscales(SDS),The Automatic Thoughts Questionnaire(ATQ), Dysfunctional Attitudes Scales(DAS), Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire (MCMQ)are applied in 56 patients with lung-cancer. And a comparison was made with another 40 cases of non-cancer patients hospitalized in the same period. Results:ATQ,DAS mean scores of lung-cancer patients with depression is higher than those without depression group. Their ATQ (53.26±13.27vs.44.88 ± 8.96)respectively;DAS (142.91±17.45vs. 133.81±13.78).P=0.938>0.05. so there is no difference in automatic thought between these two groups.Medical coping-modes score from 35 patients with depression are face: 19.80±2.31,escape:16.86±1.91, give in:13.691.57;16patients without depression areface:18.38±2.03,escape:17.06±1.81,give in :l4.00±2.13. There is difference only in face between these two groups. Conclusion:1.Negative automatic thoughts is exist always whether patients have depression or not.2.The dysfunctional attitudes exist in 56 lung-cancer patients,It's degree in those with depression is higher than those without depression. As a characterized mental status of the patients with depression, cognitive dysfunction maybe underlie the vulnerability to cancer.some aspects of dysfunctional attitudes such as pefect ,dependenceattraction have liner-correlation with depression.3.Face, avoidence and give in 3 kinds of coping modes are applied in all lung-cancerpatients though face are used more often in patients with depression than withoutdepression.
