Objective: To understand the status of resilience, coping modes and sleep quality in gastric cancer patients receiving neoadjuvant chemotherapy. To explore the correlation between resilience and medical coping modes, sleep quality,so as to provide reference and basis for improving the level of resilience of patients with gastric cancer during neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Methods: This study was a cross-sectional study.101 gastric cancer patients receiving neoadjuvant chemotherapy who met the inclusion criteria were invitied to participate in this study. The general situation questionnaire,Conner-Davidson Resilience Scale(CD-RISC),Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire(MCMQ),and Athens Insomnia Scale(AIS)were used to investigate the resilience level and influencing factors of gastric cancer patients during neoadjuvant chemotherapy. All data were analyzed by SPSS 22.0 software.Statistical methods used included statistical description,t-test,one-way analyses of variance, correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analysis.Results:1.The mean total score of resilience in neoadjuvant chemotherapy patients with gastric cancer was(57.66±9.31).The scores of three dimension were: resilience dimension(28.87±5.60),self-improvement dimension(19.41±3.32)and optimism dimension(9.39±1.32).2.The mean total score of coping style of patients with gastric cancer during neoadjuvant chemotherapy was(43.24±3.75).The scores of each dimension were face dimension(18.71±3.58),avoidance dimension(14.99±2.27)and yield dimension(9.53±2.44).3.The sleep quality score of patients with gastric cancer during neoadjuvant chemotherapy was(7.68±3.56),and 59.41% of patients had sleep disorders during neoadjuvant chemotherapy.4.Psychological resilience scores of gastric cancer patients receiving neoadjuvant chemotherapy were significantly different among different gender, age, residence, educational level and frequency of chemotherapy(P< 0.05).5.The resilience score is significant positively correlated with face dimension(r=0.396,P<0.01).It was negatively correlated with yield dimension(r=0.295)and sleep quality score(r=0.260),and the correlation coefficient(P<0.01).6.Education level and face dimension are positive predictors of resilience of gastric cancer patients receiving neoadjuvant chemotherapy, while sleep quality is negative predictor, which could explain 59.9% of the totalvariation.Conclusion:1.The overall psychological resilience of patients with gastric cancer during neoadjuvant chemotherapy is at a low level, and the influencing factors were sex, age, residence, education level and frequency of chemotherapy.2.Gastric cancer patients receiving neoadjuvant chemotherapy tend to adopt avoidance and submission coping styles.Sleep quality is poor, and the incidence of sleep disorders is higher.3.Face dimension score was positively correlated with total score of resilience, while yield dimension and sleep quality score were negatively correlated with total score of resilience.Sleep quality and face coping were significant predictors of resilience. The positive coping style and the improvement of sleep quality is helpful to improve their psychological resilience level.
