Along with the fast development of auto industry,the total of vehicle is increasing quickly. This condition results in that traffic accidents occur frequently, which not only threatens people's lives safety but also results in enormous economy loss. According to the statistics of 2008, traffic accidents of 265,204 occurred over the country leading to the casualties of 378,403 and huge economic loss of 1.01 billion in RMB. How to use computer technique to deal with traffic accidents efficiently, fairly , exactly and how to absorb experiences from these traffic accidents have become a research task containing important society meaning.Traffic accident reconstruction, as an essential means to analyze the reason and dispute resolution of traffic accident, has developed rapidly during these years. The essence of traffic accident reconstruction is to display the process occurring accident in the form of dynamic simulation or description though modeling based on accident information. The accident reconstruction mainly depends on collision theory of elastic-plastic.Based on the currently theoretical models of vehicle collision accident and software for reconstruction and the results of the real accident cases commissioned by a number of traffic police or judicial departments in Vehicle-Traffic Safety Lab of Jilin University, the paper mainly accomplished the work as followings:After reviewing a large number of relevant literatures about research on reconstruction and simulation of vehicle collision accidents at home and abroad, a framework of vehicle collision is established to meet the need of reconstruction and practice.Based on the theory of vehicle impact, a new traffic accident reconstruction and analysis is in the depth researched in this paper. The vehicle kinetic model and impact model are set up. This paper puts forward three different of vehicle impact models according to the collinear collision and two-dimension collision and the restitution coefficient are used in these models.The above model in computing module was realized by using Visual C++6.0. Numerical value was gained in parallel to position coordinate of vehicle centric and oblique in time series. After gaining a system flow chart according to the framework and practical demand of reconstruction, the road traffic accident reconstruction and simulation system was developed, which is especially used in the reconstruction analysis of vehicle collision accident.This system is able to input the traffic accident scene information and simulate the traffic accident whole process. Using the GDI program in VC++, the system has the functions of 2D reconstruction of vehicle collision accident. Besides, the model of 3D reconstruction is programmed by three kinds of programs, such as VC++, OpenGL and 3Dmax.At last, compared with the impact test and road traffic accident scene, it proves that the system is valid and able to provide a scientific mean for the verdict and analysis of road traffic accident.The research will promote the development of traffic accident computer reconstruction and improve the study on traffic accident analysis providing a new methodology for traffic accident judgment. However, the result will be influenced by the complexity of vehicle collision accident, differences of driver and diverse vehicle structure. Vehicle collision accident reconstruction system needs further modifying, such as change of rollover movement, improvement of database and increasing the sorts of road scene.
