The development of the city depends upon its geographic and cultural nature, which influences the formation of the city style and feature. However, more and more natural elements in the city encounter to the breakage in different extents along with the rapid urbanization. Consequently, the feature of the city becomes lack in originality and natural sceneries. In the view of creating the City Style and Feature, this current thesis provided the investigation on Scenery Shape in the city development plan, from the theoretical aspects as well as the practical aspects.In the aspect of theoretical studies, at the beginning, the phenomenon of missing of nature, or missing of city style and feature, in the urban design was taken as the issue backgrounds. Thereby, the concept of "Scenery Shape" was put forward. Then, the present dissertation provided a review of the history as clues, and elucidated some significant theories and pioneer attempts that how mankind to solve the relation between city and nature. The characteristics and classification of Scenery Shape was explained. Some important questions, such as purposes, principles and process of process of planning in the Style and Feature Plan of Scenery Shape were investigated in details. Among these discussions, the process of planning was the core content, which was divided into four steps:cognizing the natural elements of scenery shape, evaluating the scenery shape, fixing on the goal of the scenery shape, framing the strategies of scenery shape in the term of style and feature.In the aspect of practical analysis, City Style and Feature Plan of Huangdao District in Qingdao was taken as the example. By means of analyzing the planning process, application of the former theories was proved. And some important conclusions were summarized lastly, which could provide helpful experience for City Style and Feature Plan in the future.
