The street as an organic part of the city, occupies very important position. Thebuildings on both sides of the street reflecting the style and feature of the street, is thedominant factor of the city. Street view directly affects the urban landscape, and it alsoaffects the people’s impression and emotions to the city. The city developing rapidlyin recent years, renovating the old streets in the city has been more and more universaland urgent. Since the reform and opening, study on the city street landscaperenovation is not enough, and there are few system regulation countermeasureresearch. Therefore, this article studying on the renovation measures of Shanghai roadin Nanjing have a certain practical significance.First, this paper tells the connotation of street style and feature, and defines itsmeaning for this paper. And then we summarizes the related theory about renovatingcity streets at home and abroad, and lists the application of these theories in practice.Through comparative and analysis of the theory and practice at home and abroad, wesummarized the development characteristics of the streets renovation, serving as areference for Shanghai road street renovation. Through practical investigation, wediscovered the existence problems of the street space, building along the street, streetfurniture and some other problems, and then we put forward the regulation principleand the corresponding countermeasures. Through this research, we expect the resultcan provide guidance to the Shanghai street renovation, and enrich the theory of streetlandscape renovation, providing reference for later practice of the streets landscaperenovation.
