Research On Ludi Garden

Ludi,the state of Lu in the ancient times,includes such areas of modern Shandong Province as Qufu,Tai'an,Linyi,Jining,Heze,Zaozhuang,etc. It's the birthplace of Confucianism,which unavoidably influenced both the ancient and modern gardens deeply. This is also the evidence of the great vitality of civilization in these areas,after the process that its gene was transferred from region times to history times.The first step of the thesis is to collect and analyze the historical material of Ludi gardens and to research the vestiges of the gardens.Then,we will analyze the intension of the modern landscape's design and propose the direction about Ludi gardens' development. Ludi gardens have a great something to do with its civilization,culture and natural surroundings which are the outside factors of the gardens' existence and change. The focus of the thesis is the building ways and characteristics of the gardens and the trend of culture. Through the case analysis of classical gardens and modern gardens,we respond to the creation of the garden object. At the same time,many material of the thesis prove that Ludi,as always,builds gardens according to the Confucianism. Furthermore,in this new historic period,receiving and assimilating the foreign gardens' culture is also a characteristic of Ludi gardens,which brings new blood of the traditional one.
