The Gardens' Characteristics In Qin&han Dynasty

Master Candidate: Bai Fan ABSTRACT Chinese classical garden is the embodiment of the national spirit and the characteristics of the times.It is a comprehensive artwork composed of architecture,landscape and vegetation.It is a wonderful work of Chinese art.The research on the historical gardens mainly focuses on the space,art and gardening ideas of gardens in the Ming and Qing dynasties.However,the research on gardens before Tang and Song dynasties is more based on literature.The research on gardens in Qin and Han dynasties is more difficult.This paper systematically summarizes the research methods,research purposes and research approaches of the historical gardens,and provides theoretical and technical guidance for Liangyuan Garden.According to the features of data,using the econometric analysis and the semiotics analysis to better understand gardens' construction background and characteristic in Qin and Han dynasties.The paper analysis the existing literature and extracting landscape elements,layout methods.The general characteristics of gardens in Qin and Han dynasties are as follows: under the influence of traditional religions,Confucianism and view of nature,architecture layout tend to be as a group and pursue luxury and vigorous;The water is dominated by natural type with rough water treatment,and thetraditional layout of "one pool and three mountains" was formed by taking the immortal mountain as the prototype,which was used until the end of the Qing dynasty;Plant planting keen on novel and rare species,and pursue the quantity of species.The second part of the paper based on conclusions as above,and applies document analysis and archaeology to analysis all kinds of composite materials,detailed analysis the landscape characteristics of Liangyuan Garden in the Western Han dynasty.The result of present work shows that Liangyuan Garden's layout is scattered;architecture,plants,water and animals to build a good view together.Through the deconstruction of the text information and the reconstruction of the spatial information,the important landscape images of Hall Wangyou,Pool Qingleng,Pingtai,bamboo garden and west mountain in Liangyuan Garden are showed.The results enriched the contents of the gardens in the Qin and Han dynasties and explored the research approaches.
