With the rapid development of urbanization of china, the area of city became larger and larger. In Beijing urban fringe, more and more big communities were constructed. But the development of the commercial environment of the new districts was not that good. There are two reasons. Second, the planning theories of the commerce are developing slowly and the present studies mostly focused on the large-scale commercial space but the middle-scale commercial space. This dissertation will focus on cases'data studies based on the re-understanding of the spacial structure of commerce to discover the development features of city's commerce in middle-scale.First this dissertation points that there are different levels in the spacial structure of commerce, and points that the key features of the commercial space are the commerce style, commerce distributing and the commerce scale. Then this dissertation analyses the form and problems of the spacial structure of commerce from the view of the City Planning. With the ground data study of the cases, this dissertation gives a new evaluating standard to evaluate the development level of a district's commercial. That is"Commerce Effective Serving Intensity". The new evaluating standard can show the different commerce serving intensity in different area of a district with more consideration of the serving radius of different commercial style. So it's a more scientific evaluating standard. After the data study of the cases, this dissertation summarizes the development feature of the middle-scale commerce and gives some planning advices.
