A Study Of City Memory

During current position in our country, upgrading our cities' historical culture's quality is the impersonal requirement of city construction. City culture construction and creating are historical processing which is ceaseless and cumulative. So, via researching the City Memory's thing-in-itself and elementarily researching for CM system's construction,this investment tries to gain a cumulative method for city culture construction.This study's main body is composed of four sections.Firstly, aiming at current conditions that we are still hazy about CM concept, the thesis discussed CM concept from three different layers: city form, function and environment meaning. It regarded CM as an integrated historic cognition, which is about city environment meaning and its forming process. More over, the thesis explained it more in two aspects: CM connotation and characteristics.In the second part, which embodied the study's theoretic significance, firstly, the thesis analyzed CM developing venation, during city environment meaning's evolution. And then, as to the evolution of city historic culture's conservation idea, the thesis insisted that constructing CM system could produce integrated and continued environment meaning. So we get an effective cumulating method for city culture construction.The third section elementarily researched the CM system, which carrying out in three aspects: CM system's elements, CM system's structures and functions, CM system's construction.The last part, which embodied the study's significance of practice, discussed upon this study's enlightenment to our city's construction in contemporary ear, which carried out in two aspects: city characteristic construction and traditional district's renewal and reconstruction.
