With the rapid development of information science and electronic technology, dipping Sonar system was digitized, systematized and intelligentized gradually. It is very necessary to improve the processing ability of signal processor in Sonar system. In this paper, the Sonar theory and algorithms which are applied in underwater acoustic signal processing are preliminarily studied and the emphasis is placed on the realization of the system.Firstly, the paper give a review which describes the basic theory of Sonar technology, including beamforming , direction finding and range finding etc. And their implementation is discussed.Focuses of the paper are on the schematic design of signal processor. As an example, hardware and software design for the control board is discussed in detail, including the DSP programming ^ customer interface programming and CPLD programming etc.At last, the problems encountered in the debug phase are described and some conclusions are given in the paper.
