Bionic design is a product design method, which has a profound history and rich practical experience. It is the most breadth inspiration resource of the human world. Simultaneously, compared to other design methods, bionic is more close to nature, more dynamic and innovative. In today's emphasizing on humanization design and advocating returning to nature, undoubtedly, bionic design will become the highlight of the design methods.This paper defines the concept of"bionic","bionics"at the beginning which are related to the bionic design, and then research on the classification of bionic design methods. Collect and list the representative of bionic products which used different design methods, in the multi-angle of design intent, method and product semantics, character ,the paper get a depth and detailed interpretation, expects to lay a good foundation of comprehensive and rigorous research of bionic design methods.In the chapter of detailed discussion of bionic design method, contrast between general positioning and bionic design positioning of product is elaborated, and then combine bionic cogitation with general approach of product design, sum up the general procedure of bionic design: feasibility analysis, product positioning, bionic object selection, biomorphic simplification, the fusion of biomorphic and product design, design assessment. On this basis, with relevant examples, elaborate and replenish of bionic design method in five aspects of shape reference, structure bionic, function analogy, abstraction and contingent bionic which integrate their respective character. These can help the designer accurately grasp each design step in the procedure of bionic product design, the end result will be more effective.The final conclusion is the summarization of the paper.
