Through the investigation statistics on Henan wild forage plants, based on the basic principle of floristic plant geography, this study analyzed the similarity of Henan wild forage plants floral element and the related areas for the first time; besides, the relationship between the similarity coefficient of Henan wild forage plants and the longitude and latitude was primarily probed. Results are as follows:1. There are 73 families, 296 genera and 789 species(including varieties) forage plants in Henan. The checklist includs 3 new records in this investigation, Vicia latibracteolata K. T. Fu,Vicia tetrantha H. W. Kung and Euphorbia hirta L.,belonged to 2 genera,2 famalilies.2. Statistical analysis on the composition of Henan wild forage plant families shows: there are above 10 species (including 10 species) 15 superior families, Gramineae takes the most(201 species), Fabaceae (95 species) and Asteraceae(85 species) take the second. There are temperate distribution families, tropical distribution families and widespread families in these superior families. Insides the 15 superior families , there are 196 genera and 624 species, they take up 20.55%, 66.22% and 79.09% of the families, genera and species of Henan wild forage plants respectively.3. Statistical analysis on the composition of Henan wild forage plant genera shows: there are above 10 species (including 10 species) 14 superior families, which contains 196 species wild forage plants, taking up 24.84% of Henan wild forage plants. Oligotypic and monotypic species occupies a quite high proportion of the genera's composition of Henan wild forage plants, exceeding 89% of the genera number. Especially the monotypic species, up to 146, accounting 18.50% of the genera number. The numerous monotypic species reflects the complexity and ancient character of the composition of Henan wild forage plants.4. Wu Zheng-yi(1983,1991) classified the areal-types of Chinese genera of seed plants, he indicated that 296 genera Henan wild forage plants could be divided into 15 geographical elements. The North temperate distributed 93 genera and 281 species, being the main components, accounting 37.50% of the non-worldwide distribution genera in this area. There are 57 pantropical distribution genera(103 species), taking up 22.98% of the non-worldwide distribution genera in this area, being the second, which indicates that the the origin and development of this area is closely related to that of the tropical distribution genera. The reason is:this area locates in the subtropical and warm temperate regions, and here existed the soil suitable to the growth of many pantropic elements plants.5. The 789 species wild forage plants in Henan could be divided into 15 areal-types, among which 729 species distributes in various all over the world, and 60 species endemic to China, accounting 92.40% and 7.60% of wild forage plants in this area respectively. In the worldwide distribution species, the amount of the cosmopolitan species is 33; species of tropical distribution 138(Type2-7), accounting 18.47% of the total species number; species of temperate distribution 549(Type8-14), accounting 73.49%; species of Mediterranean Sea distribution 11(Type12), accounting 1.47%.6. Likeness coefficient could reflect the similarity level of species composition of the two areas, and characteristics of plants geographical distribution to some extent. The likeness coefficient between Baotianman and Funiu Mountain is 0.857, being the largest; between Boshan and Xiaoqinling is 0.540, the smallest. Most of the likeness coefficients of various mountains decrease with the increase of the absolute latitude difference, which indicates that the larger the absolute latitude difference, the smaller the likeness coefficient. Most of the likeness coefficients of various mountains also decrease with the increase of the absolute longitude difference, indicating that the larger the absolute longitude difference, the smaller the likeness coefficient. 7. There are 69 families, 238 genera and 514 species wild forage plants common distribute in Henan and Hebei; 68 families, 239 genera and 450 species in Henan and Shandong; 66 families, 226 genera and 487 species in Henan and Shanxi; 58 families, 225 genera and 454 species in Henan and Shaanxi; 57 families, 232 genera and 421 species in Henan and Hubei. Henan has the most common families and species wild forage plants with Hebei, the fewest with Shanxi.
