An characteristics of compact of florstic elements were studied in JIUFENG mountain reservation area in semi-arid steppe region. Based on the statistics and analysis at generic and specific levels, and the comparison with the relation of the surrounding floras, the main results and conclusions obtained are as follows:The species diversity is relatively high.The 596 species of vascular plants, belong to 82 family and 302 genera, have been recorded now in JIUFENGmountain reservation area. The arid and semiarid zone of florstic elements were represented by all plants, namely, most of plants centralize in a few of families and generas. And the maximum was Compositae, with 32 genera and 76 species plants, the next were Gramineae,Rosaceae and Leguminosae. The florstic diversity were complexity and passageway then near surrounding region. The species of steppe florstic and east-Asia were most rich. The mesophytes were main plant water ecological types in JIUFENG mountain protection area.The temperate components are absolutely dominant:67.7% of the non world components in families; 80.9% of the non world components in genera and 91.8% of the non world components in species.The plants of herbage here are dominant in life styles. In water ecotypes, the mesophytes are most primary, the xerophils are primary either, that means the water condition is worse, it is semi-drought area here. Compared with the flora of Wula Mountain, Ye shan Mountain and Daqingshan Mountain,the kindred relationship between them have been analyzed:the flora of JIUFENG Mountain has nearest kindred relationship with Daqingshan Mountain in families and genera, the flora of Yeshan Mountain doesn't have so near relation with it.
