Jingshan mountain extension in Jingmen city is located in the middle of Hubei Province, China, between 111°51′ -112°21′N and 30°23′-31°04′E. Based on the investigations of the vegetation and the collection of samples , some statistics and comparatively intensive analysis on native vascular plants of Jingshan mountain extension in Jingmen city were carried out at family, genus and species level respectively in this paper. It includes the floristic composition, the floristic area-types, the floristic position and the relationship with its circumferential floras. The results are as follows:(1) It is abundant in species, with 1285 species of vascular plants which belong to 609 genera and 149 families. (2) Dominance families and genera is obvious. (3) The types of distribution are various and geographical elements are complex. (4) The flora is of an obvious temperate feature. Tropical elements are plentiful. It has something with tropic flora and shows some transitional nature. (5) Endemism is notable and according to the statistics this flora has the most common endemic species with Sichuan Province. It is closely related with the Southwest of China. (6) There are large proportion of archaic, relic and primitive plants in the flora. (7) The flora belongs to East China plant flora. (8)The comparison of the floras makes it clear that this vascular plants flora is closely related to that of Mt. Lushan, and then to that of Mt. Dabieshan in Hubei, Mt. Huangshan, Mt. Hupingshan, Mt. Shennongjia and Mt. Jinyunshan respectively.
