| This paper researched on the grasshopper community of Maijishan Scenic Area by means of sample, and analyzed the change of its diversity in different altitudes and months using Simpson, Shannon-winener, Pielou and Whittaker diversity index .The results showed: The total number of the grasshopper species in the scenic area is 40, which belongs to 7 families, 32 genera. Tetrigidae, including 4species and 3 genera, 1 species and 1 genus of Pyrgomorphidae, 6 species and 3 genera of Catantopidae, 5 species and 5 genera of Oedipodidae, 3 species and 3 genera of Arcypteridae, 2 species and 2 genera of Acridedae, 19 species and 15 genera of Acridae. The species of Oedipodidae occupied 47.50% of the total species, Catantopidae occupied 15.00% and there was only 1 genus and 1 species of Pyrgomorphidae.Maijishan scenic area locates in Holarctic according to the geographical division of Chinese insect, but there are a great deal oriental species infiltrate in it. The staggered distribution between two boundaries was formed. The species of Holarctic occupies 55% of the total species, including Chorthipus longdonggensis and Sphigonotus tsinglinggensis as special species. The species of oriental occupied 37.5%. The number of widely distribute species occupied 7.5%.In different habitats, the order of diversity indices of grasshopper community is open ground>grassland>farmland. It showed the diversity of plant species or the complication of vegetation has closed relation with the diversity of insect community. We also found the diversity of grassland community reduces with the rise of altitude. The highest one is below 1000m, the lowest from 1400m to 1600m, and no grasshopper above 1600m. From July to October, the highest month of the diversity indices are August and September, followed by July, and then October.
