| College physics is the basis of all natural science and all engineering technology, and it is an important way of cultivating the scientific quality, so it becomes a required course for the student of science and engineering in institution of higher learning. The physics history is a historical science whose study object is the process of people exploring physics world. It is so comprehensive that it involves the development of natural science related to physics and the history of human if we catch on the physics history in two dimensions of time and space. This kind of characteristic determines the special function of the physics history in cultivating the student's science reason and scientific quality.Considering the fact that the traditional teaching way which only pays attention to the knowledge teaching and ignores the educational value of the physics also takes an important part in nowadays physics teaching, and the class hours were cut down largely, we put forward a method that is inserting appropriately physics history in the physics teaching. For this purpose, this text plants to carry on certain discussion on this method, which was regards as some work that make for improving the level of physics teaching in our country. At first, in chapter one, we have explained the background.. the present and the developing tendency of science education at home and abroad. Moreover, we also introduced briefly two mainstream theory related to science education at abroad: In chapter two, the physics history and it's educational function were discussed;In chapter three, firstly the objective basis the educational principle and the sense related to physical history introduced into physical teaching were analyzed, then we put forward some golden rule in the process of inserting physics history in the physics teaching and discuss what qualities the teachers have to possess;In chapter four, we point out the deficiency of this text and explain the prospect of this topic.
