With the rapid development of information technology and the arrival of the era of knowledge economy, innovation ability and term spirit will become people's basic feature in future society. Basic education reform is unavoidable; the difference between success and failure consists in teachers. Normal university, as an arena of training teachers, is as well confronted with opportunity and challenge. Under those circumstances, normal universities have to carry on education for all - around development. Student-participate-in-teaching is an advanced teaching method which is fit for the teaching of electromagnetic experiment in normal university, its guiding ideology is dialectical materialism, its theoretical basis is some soul of Chinese educational thought and some rational contents of western educational thought. The basic feature of this teaching method include training student elicits, making them take part in teaching and management, emphasizing training of student' imitativeness and innovation ability, emphasizing communion and cooperation in class,emphasizing training of students' independent academic ability. The paper has four sections. In the first section, student-participate-in-teaching in electromagnetic experiment class is raised; in the second section, the theory is analyzed that student-participate-in-teaching is based on; in section 3, practice and study on instruction of student-participate-in-teaching are curried out; the fourth section is conclusion. Research methods include experimental research, questionnaire and empirical summary. The study findings show that the design of student-participate-in-teaching is effective. Student-participate-in-teaching have great impact on training students' education for all - around development, it make student progress in unintelligence, and it do not lower the advantage of traditional teaching method in cultivating student's basic knowledge and manipulative skill. It has great significance in educating qualified teacher.
