A Study On Senior Middle School GIS Teaching Software's Development And Application

Nowadays, with the rapid development of modern information technology, Geographic Information System (GIS) has been a public management roof of serving the people. At the same time, GIS education has become more and more important. Many of Chinese colleges have set the course of GIS or the pertinent course of GIS. In 2003, the ministry of education put the GIS into the new senior middle school course historical in the new geography course standard, and advice to use the GIS software platform that is secondary developed. That was also the first time the GIS came into the new senior middle school course using the form of National file ordain.The senior middle school GIS teaching software can give more help to the teachers, and helps them get the teaching target better. At the same time, it also gives an independent roof to the students to study GIS, and ground the students' understanding and mastering of GIS.After analyzing and researching the actuality of GIS teaching software's using and developing, The author discussed the GIS's status and meaning in the new senior middle school geography course standard, and used Constructivism to be the software's theory base and Component GIS to be the software's technology base. Then author designed and developed the senior middle school GIS teaching software, and discussed the effect of using the software in geography education. At the end of this paper, the author summarizes the conclusion of this paper and the next work to do.
