The increasing progress of science and technology in the 21st century can impose a profound impact on the construction of curriculum and teaching materials. Consequently, modernization of curricular content becomes one important part of high education reform, and the focus of talking and watching in most of countries around the world. In the last few years, the problem has been paid great attention and widely studied, some great progress are been made. This paper, giving a glimpse of the influence of lifelong education on high education, analyzing the new demand on college physics education for engineering students with the development of social and science and technology, referring to the experiences in curriculum reform and textbook construction of college physics in the main western countries and studying the state of the main domestic textbooks for college physics course, present a curriculum implementation for combining semiconductor physics fundamentals into college physics course for engineering students. Some preliminary attempts have been made from such aspects as instructional design, presentation form appropriate for non–physics major college students, adaptability for teaching and learning and application of multimedia technology. The implementation is the effective improvement to some of existed teaching materials in some sense. In this paper, we made some research about the building and the reform of instructional content and form, the textbook making and the application of modern education technology in college physics for engineering students, in order to forward the development of physics education, and to satisfy the requirements for the talent in the knowledge of science and technology, the creative competence and the comprehensive qualities. Meanwhile, in view to complexity and particularity of education, it is pointed out that the effect of the reform of curriculum and instruction depends on other correlated–reforms. We have to confess that there is a long way to go.
