Greenland, being one element of green landscape, is the only ecosystem approaching nature. And it plays an important role in guaranteeing a sustained urban environment and in keeping physically and mentally healthy of urban residents. Traditional urban green landscape indexes, such as greenland rate, green rate, etc. , which only focus on the scale and area of the greenland, ignoring the importance of the shape, distribution, type and structure, can give neither a real picture, nor a scientific evaluation of the ecology effects of the urban greenland. Therefore, a set of new and objective quantitative index is called for.Based on the landscape ecology, this paper intends to analyze the distribution and pattern of urban ecology. The key notion of this study is that, while deciding the index of urban green landscape, we can obtain both the plan and the stereoscopic distribution of the greenland in terms of its area, quantity, form, space distribution, structure and type, etc.. Hence a clear and logic evaluation system is set up from three dimentional indexes, i.e. green landscape unit evaluation, urban or suburban area evaluation and city area evaluation. This system is conducive to a better assessment of greenland ecology.Computer-assisted analysis of landscape and evaluation is a new tendency of landscape ecology, famous analytical software FRAGSTATS can calculate as much as 40 landscape at one time, but until now no software is achieved for the purpose of assessing green landscape. Under such circumstances, by using Visual C+ + this project carries out a tentative study to compile an Urban Green Landscape Evaluation Procedure including typical Windows. This procedure, combined pattern treatment, spatial analysis with landscape evaluation, can realize multi-data input recognition, re-processing, analysis, storage and outcome. Having the advantages of providing a clear boundary marker, a convenient and practical usage, this procedure can provide a more simple and scientific way for evaluating urban ecology and land utilization.
